COVID-19 has disrupted our lives in many ways and it has caused us to change the way we do things. One such change is that we will now have our annual meeting NAMI Moore County meeting via ZOOM. It will be a time for us to come together to try and improve NAMI Moore County for the coming year. At this time, we will elect our officers and receive our annual budget.
But we also want to hear from our membership. We will ask those who want to share why it is you come to NAMI Moore County and what you what like to see NAMI Moore County do in this coming year.
The Board will also be asking for your help in increasing our membership, putting out publicity for our support groups and events, and promoting Mental Illness Awareness Week. The Board also seeks those members who are willing to speak to outside groups about NAMI, willing to help with our online presence, or willing to be a Family to Family instructor, a Connections Peer Support Group facilitator, or a Family Support Group facilitator. Many hands make light work. and greater membership involvement will mean a stronger NAMI Moore County.
Finally, we will attempt to organize a strong showing for our first ever NAMI North Carolina Virtual Walk on May 30th. The purpose of the walk is to raise funds, promote awareness, and build a community for NAMI across our state.
Sincerely, Bob Whitehouse, President NAMI MC
