NAMINC Walks

Saturday, May 1, beginning at 9 a.m., the Annual NAMIWalk for North Carolina takes place.  This stress free walk is around the beautiful campus of Dorothea Dix Hospital located in Raleigh.  Don't miss this opportunity to help those with a mental illness by walking and showing support in this event with "The Moore County Messengers", our local team.  It is fun, fun, fun....after the Walk, we sponsor or our own Tailgate Party for those from our affiliates that take the time and make the effort to support this important event.  Last year due to Patty Laughlin's efforts, we won "Best All Around Affiliate Award" due to our participation, really cool t-shirts, and team spirit - let's see if we can get it again this year!

To register or for additional information, please visit the NAMINC website at www.naminc.org or call Patty, our Team Captain, at (910) 528-6121.  One half of all money raised by an affiliate for this event is returned to the affiliate - so even if you are unable to attend, please consider sponsoring our team.

Please help us show the general public and our legislators that we mean business - and we can only do that by showing up in numbers.  GO "MOORE COUNTY MESSENGERS"!

 NAMI NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The NAMI National Conference is being held June 30 through July 3, 2010 in Washington, D.C.  As Judith always says, "if you haven't attended a national conference, you don't know what you're missing."  The education, networking, research updates, and enthusiasm are unparallele in the mental health world.  Since the conference is being held relatively nearby (compared to California last year!), why not consider attending the conference and then sightseeing around our Nation's capitol afterwards - what a great family vacation for the 4th of July Weekend - fireworks on The Mall For additional information, go to www.nami.org.
