NEWSLETTER EDITOR

NAMI-MC publishes a quarterly newsletter that is mailed to all members.  Judith Krall has been our Editor for 4+ years and has done an outstanding job - Judith is now prepared to turn over the reins to someone new while she focuses on legislative issues.  Any member that can cut and paste and work with the Sandhills Center would certainly be qualified.  You generally do not have to seek articles or write them youself.  Please call Marianne at 528-6820 if you are interested in this most important volunteer position.

"Pathway to Awareness" 2010

NAMI-MC's signature awareness event is being held on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2, 2010.  This is an action packed weekend filled with activities for the general public with the focus on awareness raising and education in regards to brain illnesses. 

We are looking for individuals that are willing to contact local businesses to solicit sponsorship of this major event.  We also need logistical support helpers on Saturday, October 2, for our annual Pathway Walk and "Candles in the Sky" balloon launch.  Come volunteer and have a blast with other NAMI-MC members!

Belk Charity Day Ticket Sales Chairperson

FILLED - THANK YOU, MIA!

Twice a year, normally May and in  November, Belk Department store generously sponsors Charity Days where participating organizations have the opportunity to sell Charity Day Tickets out in the community and keep all the moneys derived from those sales.  This is an easy one!  All that the chairperson needs to do is get the tickets out to our membership to sell or help coordinate sales in the community.  On the day of the sale, the Chairperson and two other volunteers man a table inside Belk for one 2 hour shift.  This money goes to our operating budget and for consumer events.

GRANTWRITER

    NAMI-MC is looking for an individual(s) willing to assist in grantwriting for various grants to assist in attaining dollars for NAMI-MC programs, projects, and Linden Lodge - all for the benefit of our local community.
